Carmel made the transition from racing in half marathons and sprint triathlons to figure competing in late 2007.

Wanting to remain and to compete drug free, she found the concept intimidating and wondered if there really was a "true" drug free organization that existed.

With some exploration and research, she discovered INBF Canada was hosting its first show in Edmonton, Alberta and she found the organization’s values and integrity in drug free competition aligned with her own.

Thus began a journey in personal discovery, growth and success beyond her greatest expectations. In April, 2008 she competed with INBF in her very first show and placed first in her class.

With a passion for the sport and its process, Carmel to date has competed in numerous shows in regional, national and international competitions with various federations.

She feels that she shares a special bond with INBF Canada, its organizers and fellow competitors and is honoured to now become a part of the executive team.

Since her first experience with INBF she has remained active in promoting the federation and truly believes in what it stands for and continues to uphold: Natural Physique Competitions, Health and Wellness, Fair Drug Testing and of course The Pursuit of Personal Excellence!
